On July 26, a delegation of 35 early childhood educators and professionals from Hong Kong attended the 2006 PECERA 7th Conference in Seoul, Korea.
The Hong Kong delegates attending the 4-day conference were officials from the Education and Manpower Bureau, and educators and faculty members from the Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong Institute of Education, Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, Po Leung Kuk, Salvation Army and Yew Chung Education Foundation.
Some Hong Kong participants presented their academic and research findings to colleagues from other places at different sessions. Dr. Betty Chan, director of the Yew Chung Education Foundation, as Chairperson of PECERA (Hong Kong), invited other participants to attend next year's PECERA 8th Conference, to be held in Hong Kong.
Apart from the rewarding early childhood facilities visits and keynote addresses by Dr. Won-Young Rhee (Chung-Ang University, Korea), Dr. Gary Ladd (Arizona State University,USA) and Dr. John Bennett (OECD, France), participants of 2006 PECERA Conference were impressed with the warm reception, care and attention Chung-Ang University provided as the host of the event. Congratulations to 2006 PECERA 7th conference's success in Korea.
