Membership is open to scholars and professionals interested in furthering research in young children. Invitations are extended to professionals, such as architects, neurologists, paediatricians, dietitians, medical practitioners, chiropractors, art therapists etc. who demonstrate interests in educational research in early childhood.

There are two categories of membership: Corporate Member and Individual Member. Corporate member refers to institutions/organizations of which acceptance are subject to the Executive Committee's approval. Corporate membership annual fees (HK$1,000) are due every school year. Individual membership fee (HK$500) is an one-off payment. Once admitted, members become life members of PECERA (Hong Kong).
